Kitty Pryde (Marvel Legends (Toy Biz)) Review
Kitty Pryde
Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) (Toy Biz)A question for you folks who paid over 20 dollars online for Kitty, did you think it was worth it? When I first saw her released, she looked as big as the other 6-inch Marvel Legends ladies. I guessed she's 20-something years-old now so it makes sense that she should be 6-inches, but she's actually shorter than that, by about a quarter-inch. Is she short in the comics or is this Kitty from a few years ago, when she was still a teenager?...and still called Shadowcat, hah. I dont know, but this is a great figure. I'm glad I waited to get mine for way less than 20 bucks though :P

Kitty stands about 5.75 inches to the top of her loose, dark-brown, flowing hair. It is very well-sculpted and has lighter-brown highlights. Her eyes are a smokey-grey and she has full, pouty, pink lips. She has a petite frame because she is smaller than the other ML figures, but the detail isn't diminished at all! The suit has a very basic design but all the folds, seams, and stitching in the clothing make it look realistic. The plastic she's made of is yellow; all the dark blue-grey parts are neatly painted. She wears a yellow belt with the X-Men symbol to help break up the monotony. The boots look nice, but the heels are what I have a problem with. It's as if Kitty was shorter than what the sculptors expected so they just added a bland slab of plastic under her feet. It's not even cleverly disguised as the shoe's sole, it's just big and ugly, like corrective shoes. I am willing to forgive the toy-makers though because they finally realized that they needed to add a swivel to Kitty's leg. The hips are a ball-socket joint so they don't allow for much side-turning, that's what the swivel is for! It helps greatly in posing her. If only they had done this for Mystique (not that it would have helped her over-all yuckyness anyway).

You'd think such a small figure would have less articulation, but no! Kitty has as much articulation as anyone else! The neck is a swivel-hinge, the hips are ball-socket joints, and the shoulders are socketed swivel-hinges for a natural look. The arms, gloves, thighs, and boots are swiveled and the waist is a socket-swivel, again for a more natural look. The elbows and knees are double-hinged while the wrists, fingers, mid-section, ankles, and bootips are single-hinged. The upper-body pivots around slightly (over the mid-section hinge) and doesn't look bad at all.

You'll notice this Kitty looks like a young woman, not just like a kid. Included in the package is a comic, a little pink dragon-thing that rests on her wrist, and a BAF piece for Antman or Giantman or whatever the heck he calls himself (he could call himself the Pink Power Ranger and I doubt anyone would argue with him for fear of being "accidentally" stepped on). And on that note, more people need to start calling her Shadowcat again. Saying "Kitty Pryde" takes too long! Even if it is the same amount of syllables, she's Shadowcat dammit! SHADOWCAT! ^@_@^

She''s two-face.
She''s just like Jerry''s girlfriend from Seinfeld as how she would look great in one spot and hideous in the next.

I don''t know what to make of Alba, sometimes she''s ugly and sometimes she''s not, she''s two-faced! I guess it just depends on the lighting...
