Lord of the Rings - Fellowship of the Ring Reviews
Sauron (Electronic Lights & Sounds)Lord of the Rings - Fellowship of the Ring (Toy Biz) - Large Electronic Figures

DeaditorThis figure is basically perfect. It's to scale, has incredible detail and it's play feature doesn't effect poseability or use. Sauron comes with 5 brass rings in a bag to represent the one ring and one can be placed on his finger which is removable ready for Isildur to cut off. An argument could be made that his head is fragile but I've had no issue's with with mine. This is a must have figure that comes with 4 spare rings, his mace, removable fingers and a button at the back that when pressed he quotes lines from the film: "Build me an army worthy of Mordor/ there is no light in the void/ I see you"...[

DeaditorThis figure comes with a aesthetically pleasing base as well as the only back pack for Sam attached to a cape but leaves much to be desired. The likeness is not a great one to Sean Astin and the action feature means and limited articulation doesn't allow much poseability. It does come with a Pan as a unique item which Sam uses during the fight in Balin's tomb but it seems to be a gimmick based toy more suitable for younger people....[

Mr-XBah, even more repackaging. Luckily though they made some changes, at least we can be happy about that.
Made for the third time, the first being the combo pack, the second being the combo packs with a hobbit and an orc now this, both hobbits together. In all three cases, they are the same style figure but with a few changes. Both still come with swords but now they lack their pouches and now they both wear identical elven cloaks, which this time are removable. Both Merry and Pippin still have their swinging action two.
To sound like a broken record, its the same figure. In all three cases its the same figure. Whats the difference you ask? The first combo packs hobbits in the Fellowship of the Rings had less articulation. These new hobbits have movement in the head, shoulders, elbows,...[

Uruk-Hai Warrior vs GimliLord of the Rings - Fellowship of the Ring (Toy Biz) - Multi-Packs

Mr-XThrough all the repaints, remakes and re-everythings, this is one of those things that SHOULD have been repackaged in another wave. I mean come on, we got two actual Uruk soldiers, not counting Lurtz and three Gimli's. Both of these figures are the top of their class to.
Lets start off with Gimli. To simply state it, the figure of him alone with the ring on the pedistal doesnt even TOUCH this. He comes with tons of stuff. A cloak, removable helmet, battle axe (two heads), long axe with one head and two throwing axe's, each being different molds. He also comes with a throwing feature. Put a throwing axe in throwing in his hand, squeeze his legs together and watch the axe fly, the little things go pretty far.
His paint is perfect, exactly like the movie counterpart. The cloack is a dark...[

Merry and Pippin vs Moria OrcLord of the Rings - Fellowship of the Ring (Toy Biz) - Multi-Packs

Mr-XThis is gonna be a pretty short review, I've already done 1/3 of it!!!
One of the first combo packs in the LOTR waves, all three figures would later be redone and repackaged, well at least the hobbits would get redone, the orc doesn't. As you already know, or can go check out yourself, I've done the Orc (its basicly like the repackage, items and all) so you get to hear about the hobbits.
Both Hobbits are short, about 3 inches each, the fact both are in weird fighting poses doesn't help either. They each come with three things, each get a sword, a pouch/sack and each gets their own cloak, which is different for each. They also come with the swinging action via switch on their backs, old stuff.
Both are wearing their clothes from the movie, which is basicly green pants, coat and a white...[

Mr-X*sigh* Yet another repacked figure, will it ever end? I doubt it...
The Moria Orc, originally released for the first movies wave packaged with Merry and Pipin, here now by himself. Good or bad, you decide. He comes with two things, a cool looking helmet and that pointy stick they call a sword. No lever functions for once. Face turned out pretty good, looks like one angry goblin.
I liked this paintjob, it looked well for this guy. His armor is a combo of red, grey and black with all the seeable skin being a greenish/pale color. Sword and helmet are also black.
Movement was a bit hindered here at only the head, shoulders, elbows, wrists and thighs. The lack of leg movement keeps him stuck in a squatting pose.
One of the better looking Orcs but the lack of major leg movement is annoying...[

Orc Overseer (with Newborn Uruk-Hai)Lord of the Rings - Fellowship of the Ring (Toy Biz) - Series 2

Mr-XHere's another LOTR rings character that’s only seen for a few minutes, has no big impact but turned out to be a good figure.
Our good friend the Overseer was part of the spawning pools in Isengard and helped cultivate the Uruk Hai warriors. He stands at about 5.30 inches tall, he would be taller but he was sculpted in a semi leaning position that makes him shorter, though not by to much. He comes with several things. First off, a ninetail whip that fits only in his right hand, the left one being open while right being closed. On his back is a small lever, when pulled down he swings his right arm, thus swinging the whip. He also comes with a spawning "bed" which resembles a strange plant with several large slits at the top. The slips are to allow another item, an Uruk body into the...[
