Batgirl
Batman - Legends of the Dark Knight (Kenner) - Series 4
Rated 2.00 stars by Azrael
Blegh. Don't get me wrong, I'm not sexist, I have no problem with female figures. It's just that I got this Batgirl in a lot of other C figs, and man... I don't like it. Her sculpt is good but her articulation s pure crud, and she isn't even capable of pulling off the simplest poses. Her accessory doesn't work well with her either. It's a bow and her arms can't really go into a bow wielding pose. I dunno I guess she's just a bad figure. Nice sculpt but terrible articulation. If you're gonna get a batgirl, there are so many, better, options, just like that Wolverine fig I just finished talking about. I guess when push comes to shove, I don't know how many times I can say it, Batgirl is a bad figure, decent sculpt, and that's about it, I mean even the paint is off since there's a giant...[See More]
Wolverine
Marvel Universe - Fury Files (Hasbro) - Wave 1
Rated 3.00 stars by Azrael
Jeezum crow Wolverine, when did you find the time to gain so much height?! X Force MU Wolverine stands tall and proud, taller than he should be in fact. Wolverine is definitely out of scale, and I plan on ranting about that face for a while! Moving on, I looked through 10 of these, and every one of them had terrible, terrible paint apps. And I mean terrible by early Infinite Hero standards. He's not too posable and can't pull off too many Wolverine-esque poses, but he can stand there menacingly, the scariest part being that he's TOO FREAKIN' TALL! I think the one thing he has going for him is that unlike the X men Origins Wolverine figs, his claws aren't molded together, which I suppose is both good and bad, because while he can get a bit more flexible, it's annoying when they get all out...[See More]
Snake Eyes (City Strike)
G.I. Joe - Rise of Cobra (Hasbro) - Collection 1 - Wave 5
Rated 5.00 stars by Azrael
Yup, that's right. I have him, you don't! City Strike Snake eyes is unspeakably fun. Actually, that's not true, if the fun factor was unspeakable, I wouldn't be writing this would I? Anyway, he's got a cool sculpt, I think it's his costume from Resolute, but I never watched it. He comes with a multitude of accessories and weapons that add to the fun, including a grappling hook back pack (it's what I sue it for) swords, guns, and more! His articulation is the same as all the other figures in the line, which is good. He's got an original body, then again, I've never seen a sculpt reused for other characters (something Hasbro has yet to learn when it comes to Marvel Universe figures). This figure isn't just fun to pose, he's fun to play with, something that's great for a collector, because...[See More]
Spider-Man (Spin 'N Trap)
Spider-Man (2000) (Toy Biz) - Series 14
Rated 4.00 stars by Azrael
SPIDER-MAN UNLIMITED! Yeah, that's right, this amazing costume has been transformed into toy form by our lord and savior of the industry, Toy Biz! With wonderful paint apps and articulation (minus the one arm, who's hindered by an action feature). The only thing missing from this is a cartoon accurate face (not complaining too much) and a cape (apparently I'm the only one who liked that part). It comes with a fun Venom display (originally Venom 2099, what happened to that?) jumping out from behind a box. Toy target practice I suppose. Hey, everyone needs to brush up on their skills occasionally right? Anyway, I could continue on my fanboy crazy rant, but all I can say in the end is that I enjoy this figure so much, that even the action feature doesn't annoy me, and I just use the cape...[See More]
Riot
Spider-Man (Toy Biz) - Venom - Planet of the Symbiotes
Rated 5.00 stars by Azrael
GOD I love this figure! Little bit of trivia for you, Riot the figure is actually the name sake for the comic character. Yeah, the only ones with official names are Lasher and Scream. Anyway, this guy has leg joints that make him squat at about 6 inches and stand at about 9 letting him blend in with any size Toy Biz fig. He's got some great paint apps and a really detailed sculpt. His action feature is two extra arms that launch out. I for one prefer to keep them off because they're outstretched, so it looks like two of his arms are chilling and two are trying to grab the figure in front of him, which can be cool for situational displays, but not for the standard showcase. I guess my one complaint about Riot would be his tongue. It comes out of his teeth and to the back of his head,...[See More]
Deathstroke (Masked)
DC Universe Classics (Mattel) - Wave 3
Rated 4.00 stars by Azrael
Not gonna lie, I love Deathstroke. No matter where he is, he always manages to be hands down amazing. Sadly, like many other great yet under the radar characters, he doesn't get many figures. When I got DCUC Deathstroke, I was ecstatic! He comes with a good amount of weapons which all work well with him. His sculpt is flawless and the pain apps are uncanny. My one complaint about him is he isn't comic accurate. He's missing his metal neck guard, which is a great attribute of the character. I guess another minor complaint is that his fingers are all connected, so he can't get a hold of the trigger on any of his guns. Slightly disappointing it is. Other than these few minor quirks, this Deathstroke figure is top of the line, and you'd have to be crazy to consider getting anything else. With...[See More]

Hush (Masked)
DC Infinite Heroes (Mattel) - Wave 1
Rated 4.00 stars by Azrael
Alright, so I've always sort of liked Hush, and I know that the only other figure of him is... well... the HUSH one. Anyway, Hush is a unique Infinite heroes mold, trench coat, new sleeves, and a unique body that'd be hard to re use, so for now, Hush is the most unique Infinite Hero out there. I picked him up purely because I wanted to bulk up my 1:18 DC collection and needed some villains at the same time. His paint apps are good, and while he can't pull off many dynamic poses, I've never seen Hush be very dynamic anyway, so no harm no foul. One of the few tings I don't like about Hush is that his pupils are visible, I've always prefered when characters have blank white eyes, but like the poor articulation, I can get past this. I dunno, I guess with a 1:18 standard, just like every other...[See More]
Carnage
Spider-Man (2000) (Toy Biz) - Series 8
Rated 4.50 stars by Azrael
This right here is my ideal Carnage figure. There's so much going for it. To start, it's got someone other figures don't, a decent mix of both red AND black. Reading the comics, I believe Carnage should have black EVERYWHERE, and this guy has that. In terms of articulation, he's pretty good, he's got the standard ML articulation, with point on his thumb, index, and other fingers, and because of this, he beats out older Carnage figures with paint jobs that were just as good. I compared this to the newer Carnage, the repainted one Hasbro shipped out, and I'm happy to say that while the other one looks cleaner, I like this one, because Carnage isn't clean, he's a freaking serial killer, and he's insane, so it only goes to say that his paint apps should match who he is, crazy and awesome. So...[See More]

Onslaught
X-Men (Toy Biz) - Onslaught
Rated 4.00 stars by Azrael
Wow, this guys pretty cool. SO I never read any comics with Onslaught, so I'm making it clear that I don't know the scale, so I cna't sya whether or not this guy is perfect. Anyway, I got this guy in a trade, and I love him. He has a good amount of articulation, though only really one or two decent poses he can pull off. The sculpt and paint are flawless, he even has Professor Xavier trapped in his back (I think he's being consumed by his own darkness or something, not sure). The snap on armor doesn't relaly do much, but since I have the BAF Onlsaught, I prefer to keep him in his first form anyway. The only complaint I have about this figure is the paint apps. I wish they would've used darker reds and purples, bright frilly pinkish purple and vibrant red aren't as imposing and menacing as...[See More]

Wolverine (Astonishing X-Men)
Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Series 12 - Apocalypse Series
Rated 4.00 stars by Azrael
Alright, I really like this guy. He's the ideal Wolverine costume, and it's always been my favorite. I picked this up at my comic shop and he was pretty cool. His articulation was a bit tight, but movable and posable. His scale is pretty perfect, especially when you compare it to the Marvel Universe Wolverines which are always too tall or too short. His claws are rubber, and when I got them they were severely out of shape, though it was easy to get them back on track with a bit of boiling water. His face sculpt is pretty good though the paint apps were a bit messy, though that could be paint rub since I got him used. He can pull off some okay poses but nothing out of the ordinary for any Wolverine fig. I guess if you have to get one ML Wolvie, it might as well be this one, since it's the...[See More]
