Batman (Zipline)
Batman - Comics (Mattel) - Series 1
Rated 5.00 stars by Azrael
DC Superheroes, DC Universe Classics, They all have one thing in common, they all make a great Batman figure, however, Mattel Batman's Zipline Batman is the definitive batman figure. SO many things about this thing are beyond great! The sculpt and paint apps are what you look for when it comes to a great figure, and the face sculpt is just so...just so... Batman. I'm sorry, but this is by far the greatest batman figure I have ever laid my hands on, and getting it for only one dollar makes this victory taste all the sweeter! Honestly, I have him near my DCSH Batman and this one just feels like it's more Batman. I know it sounds weird, but I just love this figure. This is my Batman, and my Batman this is! With great paint apps, a perfect face mold, and while it may not have the best...[See More]

I wholeheartedly agree. This is one of Mattel's finest works.
She-Spawn
Spawn (McFarlane) - Series 4
Rated 2.00 stars by Azrael
GRRRR I'M A SCARY BARBIE DOLL FROM HELL! Seriously. This is the impression I get when I look at She Spawn. She has a girlish figure with minimal articulation (or so I thought, thanks for proving me wrong later on Todd). Her paint apps are good though I guess. I think the thing about this figure that pisses me off (I should say I dislike) the most is the real hair. Seriously, when they add that it looks more like a goth girl's doll than a Spawn figure. I mean the accessories are cool, and the sculpted details are demonic, but that once again helps the look of MALL GOTH BARBIE as opposed to She Spawn. There's gotta be a better figure of her out there, and if there isn't', Shame on McFarlane! Because this thing is seriously lacking in every possible category, and someone needs to step in and...[See More]
Sound Ninja
Naruto (Mattel) - 3" Figures
Rated 3.50 stars by Azrael
Alright, so while I'm not the biggest fan of Naruto, I thought the sound ninja were pretty badass, so picking them up seemed like a no brainer. Here's what I think of each of them Zaku: My favorite of the sound ninja is in a pose that shows him shooting one of his sound waves. Pretty good I geuss, although the kanji on his shirt have gone unpainted for some reason. Like the other figures, there's not a lot of articulation. Strangely, he's making a weird, money like face. EVen if I'm exaggerating, it's definitely not a look you make while you're fighting someone. But Zaku is Zaku, and I'm not seeing any alternatives. 3.5/5 Dosu: Dosu is a bit better, since he can't have facial expressions, that's not a problem. His sculpted psoe is him rushing at someone. Looks pretty cool, still next to...[See More]

I really like all about ninjas... I have so many collections of it.
Union Jack
Marvel Universe - Fury Files (Hasbro) - Wave 4
Rated 3.50 stars by Azrael
okay, so I'm not really sure how I should feel about this Union Jack figure. He comes with some parts that other figures have yet to recycle which is obviously a plus, but his body...I never liked it. Long neck, beefy upper torso, it's like unless it's on moon knight, it really can't look good. Union Jack's paint job can vary greatly depending on what you're looking at. When I went to go buy it there was one that was god awful, hands down terrible, made me want to puke, and one that wasn't as bad. He comes with some nice accessories and a cool belt... that's... cool I guess. I think what I like most about this figure is the head sculpt, which looks just like the Marvel Legends Union Jack. Then again, come to think of it, that and the accessories are the ONLY cool thing about this figure,...[See More]

Tiffany the Amazon
Spawn (McFarlane) - Series 30 - Adventures of Spawn
Rated 2.00 stars by Azrael
Jeez, if it isn't Striperella! Tiffany here is not necessarily a figure I'd want, I got her in a lot of other McFarlane action figures and have been trying to get rid of her ever since, sadly I've had no luck. Sculpt and paint are good, but I'm going to say this and I expect you all to understand where I'm coming from. She looks like one of those pornographic Japanese statues, because, well, it seems like that's what she really is, minus the whole Japanese thing. Seriously, the only reason any person in any place would want a figure of this is for naughty reasons which I'm not sure I am allowed to discuss here. The reason it gets 2 out of 5 despite it's grotesque form is because I DOES have a good sculpt and it's paint apps ARE infallible. So I suppose while it's missing the other 3...[See More]

She looks okay to me.
Iron Man (Silver)
Marvel Universe - Fury Files (Hasbro) - Wave 5
Rated 4.00 stars by Azrael
I'll start off by talking about the mold of this figure. It's a mold that Hasbro has used 3 times for Marvel Universe, red/gold Iron Man, the always unnecessary stealth Iron man, and this "Silver Centurion" Iron man. Surprisingly enough, this figure peg warms like crazy. This surprised me because frankly, this figure always seemed pretty cool to me. I guess it's just the mix of colors, the red the silver and the blue in the eyes just come together so nicely I found myself hypnotized, unable to resist my urges to whip out my wallet and slap 8 bucks on the counter. I gotta say, he doesn't disappoint. His paint, other than the cool colors, is spot on, with only one or two minor stray marks, which granted is mroe than there should be, but less than what there usually is. The weird tornado...[See More]
Scarecrow (Crime Scene Evidence)
Dark Knight - Movie Masters (Mattel) - Series 2
Rated 4.50 stars by Azrael
This review is about the Arkham Scarecrow, not the business suit Scarecrow. Now I've never been a fan of Scarecrow in the sense that I know everything about him, yet he's a character that for some reason I always enjoy. This means that when I saw the Movie Masters Scarecrow, I decided to buy him. He's a fun figure. He's got DC Universe Classics articulation, the one exception being the biceps. In fact, for the first few months I had him, I had no idea his legs had advanced articulation, and thought they were just the standard up down movement. Silly me, eh? Anyway, he's got a cool design to him that you just have to love, and his coat is soft enough that it doesn't hinder articulation... much. His paint apps are pretty good too, even under the coat things look pretty good. Scarecrow's...[See More]
Sub-Zero
Mortal Kombat (Jazwares) - Series 2 - Shaolin Monks
Rated 4.50 stars by Azrael
Someone tell me, who DOESN'T like a decent game of Mortal Kombat? Before you answer you should know, if people DIDN'T the price of Mortal kombat toys on the secondary market wouldn't be so freaking high! Sub Zero is one of the more valuable figures in the line, sporting his Shaolin monks outfit this time around, Sub Zero doesn't fail to disappoint. he has some pretty good articulation. The only thing wrong with it is what that half point off is for. Unlike other Shaolin monks figures, his feet are swivel and he doesn't have thigh swivels. Anyway, his sculpt is spot on, the definition of a faithful adaptation, this Sub Zero figure perfectly represents his outfit form the game. His paint applications are superior without a running brush stroke in sight. My favorite part of the figure is the...[See More]
Scorpion
Mortal Kombat Trilogy (Toy Island) - 10" Figures
Rated 5.00 stars by Azrael
Well, after getting a few 10 inch figs (all marvel) I felt like I needed to even it out a bit. Of course buying any kind of Mortal Kombat figure these days can get extremely expensive, but I was lucky enough to get one in a trade. Scorpion here fits in perfectly with all the Marvel Universe (not Fury Files) figures and is sculpted to perfection. Perfectly capturing the essence of an evil ninja, Scorpion's Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 outfit is perfectly replicated. He has about as much articulation as you could expect from these things; arms, elbows, hips and knees, and his loincloth is rubber so it doesn't hinder leg movement. All in all I love this figure, and he's already become my favorite 10 incher. Unique sculpt, good paint, and articulation that's about all you can get, Scorpion is...[See More]
Danger
Marvel Legends (Hasbro) - Queen Brood Series
Rated 3.50 stars by Azrael
I'll admit, I hate using the word, but Danger is definitely a "nifty" figure. She has a unique sculpt and a face that captures her character perfectly. She has some translucent plastic on her torso that really adds to the character of the figure. I've always loved translucent plastic, it always adds flavor, and it's unique. I mean Along Came A Spider Spider-Carnage would only be half the figure if he wasn't translucent. Anyway, my favorite part of the figure is the wings. You will never find an accessory like that again. He webbed wings add an ominous glow to the figure that makes it all the cooler. Her articulation is good, and her paint is great, but sadly, her two open hands give her a messiah feel that counteracts the doomsday feeling the rest of her gives off. A bit disappointing,...[See More]

I agree. I have to give Hasbro some rare credit (from me) for that one.
