Batman (Infrared)
Batman - Animated Series (Kenner) - Series 2
Rated 5.00 stars by Collector1
Batman: The Animated Series which lasted from the early to late 90's is one of the most highly regarded Batman cartoons to this day, and is responsible for bringing a number of Bat-Fan's into the fold. The toy's were fittingly, awesome. While never highly articulated, the made up for it in being highly show accurate, and having the most awesome accessories. Infrared Batman is just the same. I remember when I first got this guy, cloth cape and all back when I was a wee little Collector1. The action figure features minimal articulation, but this does not detract from the figure at all! The detail in the toy is Bruce Timm's famed minimalist style, yet still looking cool. The weaponry featured hear is a typical disk launcher that was exceedingly popular in the 90's and still hanging in...[See More]
Firestorm
Infinite Crisis (DC Direct) - Series 2
Rated 3.50 stars by Collector1
Heroes lived, heroes died and new heroes were born. Jason Rusch was one of those chosen few. DC Direct brings to us another star of the best selling miniseries Infinite Crisis with Firestorm the Nuclear Man. Firestorm features a "massive" eleven points of articulation. Like always, the sculpt is top notch on Firestorm and for the most part, comic accurate. However, Firestorms legs fall short as they don't line up with his costume from Infinite Crisis. The tubes on his hands are just to thin to actually see. They should have been painted a brighter color. The silver bands that lead into the symbol thing on his chest are poorly done and don't really catch the eye. The head is pretty much one of the only good things about this thing. It wonderfully sculpted and looks like Firestorm. The...[See More]

Spider-Man (Black Costume)
Spider-Man Origins (Hasbro) - Signature Series
Rated 4.50 stars by Collector1
Before Venom, before Eddie Brock, and LONG before over exposure and bad editorial choices ruined a potentially incredible character that could have over shadowed even Norman Osborn, there was the Black Costume. Now, this dark part of the Spider-Man Legacy is brought to you in the form of Symbiote Spider-Man. In scale, and theme of releases, with the rest of the Spider-Man Origins line, Symbiote Spider-Man is made of black plastic and hard rubber with the famed reach around spider symbol painted on in shining silver paint. Featuring roughly 27 points of articulation, Symbiote Spider-Man is highly pose able, allowing a multitude of dramatic positions. Symbiote Spider-Man includes a high tech glider whose wings are made from cloth pattered after the classic Spider-Man costume. The...[See More]
Master Chief
Halo 3 (McFarlane) - Series 1 - Campaign
Rated 4.50 stars by Collector1
A day at Wal*Mart toy hunting is usually rather uneventful for me, rarely ever finding something good aside from some Transformers of Marvel Legends. That is, until I saw this nice piece of plastic for only $9.63! Master Chief, the hero of the Halo story, and the best humanity has at survival is standing tall and proud at 5 and half inches tall. What drew me to this was it's incredible sculpt and war worn paint job. Each piece is seemingly individually painted with care taken for each shade. Master Chief is highly articulated, with each joint almost invisible unless you have x-ray vision. This allows for incredible posing. Now, onto guns! Master Chief comes with very little, only his rifle is included along with a peg that can be inserted into the multiple holes on his back and one...[See More]
Brute Chieftain
Halo 3 (McFarlane) - Series 1 - Campaign
Rated 5.00 stars by Collector1
From the depths of the Covenant, the muscle that is the Brutes arise to strike fear into the hearts of human armies. The Brute Chieftain is perhaps the most terrifying of the species. Dressed in heavy duty, and possible ritualistic, armor, The Brute Chieftain the mighty race of warriors into battle wielding the devastating Gravity Hammer, a weapon that can alter the gravity in its immediate area to absolutely pulverize its target. Looking like a hybrid Rhinoceros and Triceratops, the Chieftain is intricately sculpted with no detail over looked by the Gods at McFarland. The mouth is left open in a roar, the tongue raised and almost quivering with the power of its silent scream. The eyes are small, and menacingly red. His helmet beautifully done with the colors blending together...[See More]
Super Patriot
Legendary Comic Book Heroes (Marvel Toys) - Pitt Series
Rated 4.50 stars by Collector1
The end result of German experiments on POW Johnny Armstrong, Superpatriot is brought to life in this stunningly comic accurate portrait. The detail on his arms and legs are by far the absolute BEST thing on this figure. The tiniest wires and tubes are mapped out in excruciating detail. His right arm features a deadly clawed hand and a good deal of articulation while his right arm wields a massive weapon, ready to tear through the enemies of Truth, Justice, and dangerously high Cholesterol at a moments notice. The face has detailed wiring spreading out from his artificial eyes which are reminiscent of Batou of Ghost in the Shell fame. In fact, minus the freakishly long pony-tail, he would make an excellent base for Batou! Speaking of the pony-tail, it is not stationary, but is able...[See More]
Rhino
Spider-Man Origins (Hasbro) - Series 1
Rated 3.50 stars by Collector1
Rhino is known as one Spider-Man's most dangerous foes because of his raw physical strength, and also known as one of his dumbest. This action figure portrays both these assets most excellently. With a build that would make Mr. Universe shrink away in fear and a face that only a mother...a blind mother really, could love, Rhino is poised to lay the smacked down on Spidey and anyone and everything that gets in his way! His costume is rippled and dented, almost like an actual animal hide. Rhino's soft rubber shoulder pads are dented and scared, looking like he just went two seconds with Chunk Norris. That's right, that is all Rhino could last against Chuck. Rhino's left hand is clenched in a tight fist while his right hand is spread open like he's about to wrap his hand around that...[See More]
Venom
Marvel Legends (Hasbro) - Sandman Series
Rated 4.50 stars by Collector1
Venom, one of Spider-Man's deadliest foes is brought to life in the stunning form, based upon the hit movie Spider-Man 3. The action figure towers over the Spider-Man from the same line and over almost every other Spider-Man 3 Spider-Men. His arms and legs are powerfully muscled with a vein-like web pattern all over his body. The body is obsidian black with the dark silver web and spider symbol popping out from the shadows. The long tongue is just a little to pink which takes away from the threatening feel of Venom. Seriously, what arch-enemy wears pink? The area around Venom's mouth is black which hides much of the detail. I suggest getting some blood red paint and repainting the tongue and cheeks. The eyes are more along the line of twin tears on his face instead of the twisted...[See More]

DC Super Heroes (Mattel) - Series 6
Rated 4.00 stars by Collector1
Mattel fights a never ending battle for cash, laziness, and American Way by trying to squeeze as much money as possible out of a single sculpt. This is a "super" example of this. Sorry for the bad pun. The only thing that separates this action figure from the other Supermen released by Mattel is the shiny new paint job and slightly modified head design. The figure has twenty-one points of articulation enabling a wide array of classic poses. However, the same problem that has haunted the DC Superheroes line is still present. The legs are unable to come close together, forcing the figure into a spread legged stance. The cape is large flexible, though I would not put to much strain on it for fear of the peg holding it on the back would tear. The ankles are oddly shaped. The plastic that...[See More]
Planet Hulk
Marvel Legends (Hasbro) - Annihilus Series
Rated 4.00 stars by Collector1
The Planet Hulk action figure stands a monstrous 7.5 inches tall without his removable helmet. The body is a reuse from the War Hulk action figure while the head is a new sculpt that is rather unappealing and un-Hulk like. I want to make this abundantly clear, there are no variant Planet Hulk figure's! The Planet Hulk action figure was originally shipped in mixed quantities of green and silver arms before the silver armed Hulks where dubbed a production mistake and where stopped in production. The Hulk includes a large shield, spiked shoulder pad, and a removable, feathered helmet. Over all, this figure would have made a solid five, but there are a number of things that I was not fond of on this figure. The head sculpt being number one. It is completely incorrect for this Hulk and...[See More]
