Doomsday
DC Super Heroes (Mattel) - Series 2
Rated 4.50 stars by Collector1
In 1993, in the back of Superman comics, a breif one page strip was shown, giving the viewer glimpses of a green gloved fist pounding against a steel wall followed by the words Doomsday Is Coming. Each comics showed the glove tearing slowly with each blow, revealing gray flesh and spiked knuckles. Finally, the wall broke...DOOMSDAY IS HERE! What followed was an epic battle that raged through Justice League and all Superman comics published at the time between Superman and the mysterious monster that was dubbed Doomsday by Booster Gold. Finally, in Superman issue number 75, the battle came to a conclusion. As the two Gods, one evil and one good, delivered simultanious blows to eachother, Doomsday was killed, but at a terrible cost. Superman died. But he would return and so would...[See More]
Green Goblin
Marvel Legends (Hasbro) - Unleashed
Rated 4.00 stars by Collector1
The cackling, high flying, pumpkin bomb hurling, super powered menace known as the Green Goblin is brought to terrifying life in extreme detail and possibility in the first wave of the Marvel Legends Unleashed 360 line of action figures. Coming with a single pumpkin bomb, dual pumpkin bomb purses (which you can't fit a dang thing in!), Goblin Glider and smoke trail stand, He seems to be ready for an all out brawl with the webhead! If he didn't keep falling over, that is. This guy is seriously unbalanced. His height, combined with the very light weight construction of the stand, means this guy will be tipping over constantly unless he's attached to the stand that come with Spider-Man. The figure itself doesn't have good balance either, making it difficult to stand on it own! The Pumpkin...[See More]
Iron Monger (Super Fist Smash)
Iron Man - 2008 Movie (Hasbro) - Basic Series
Rated 5.00 stars by Collector1
A big, mean killing machine describes Obadiah Stane's suit of powered armor rather well. Reversed engineered from Tony Stark's original Iron Man Mark I prototype armor used in his escape from the Ten Rings camp, the Iron Monger warsuit towers over the other Iron Man armors in the line, but is not in scale with the actual movie. Visible, Iron Monger is armed with a missile launcher on its left arm and a flame thrower or maybe a mini-machine gun and possible a mini-laser cannon-thing above it. Unfortunately, these are sculpted and not movable. Four fingered hands have a small circle in their palms, representing a flight stabilizer and repulser. The shoulder pads are soft and easily flexible as to avoid messing with the arm articulation, which is splendid by the way. Iron Monger has...[See More]
Smokescreen
Transformers - Alternators (Hasbro) - Basic Series
Rated 4.50 stars by Collector1
Lair, cheater, compulsive gambler, all these things and more sum up the heroic Autobot Smokescreen! His friendly personality allows him to get close to his allies and then report back to Optimus Prime on how his troops are feeling about the current operation. His flashy Subaru Impreza WRC helps this mission by making 'bots warm up to him even faster! One thing is for sure, his cool alternate form did that for me! Released in 2003 as part of the first wave of Alternators, transformers that transform into highly detailed brand name cars, Smokescreen is frighteningly accurate to the original G1 action figure. His interior in vehicle mode is highly detailed, showing even the meters on the dashboard. The hood lifts up and shows of an engine that becomes a gun in robot mode. In robot...[See More]
Mary Jane
Marvel Legends (Hasbro) - Sandman Series
Rated 0.50 stars by Collector1
Mary-Jane Watson is well known as one of the hottest women in comics. Portrayed by Kristen Dunce the toy based on her likeness would be one of the best looking female figures (pun intended), of all time, right? Let me quote Lex Luthor here...WRONG! This figure looks like Kristen Dunce if she was hit in the face with a Pinto. Again. And again. And again. She was a dumb, dull smile on her face and poorly done eyes. The hair is probably the only good thing about this monstrosity. Soft and flexible, it could be used for a number of other figures much more effectively. Not to mention the poor choice for costume on her, an ugly brown dress and boots. Mary-Jane's arms lack the double hinge unlike her knees. Mary-Jane's waist seems far too thin, almost anorexic in appearance, which is in stark...[See More]
Jazz
Transformers - Movie (Hasbro) - Deluxe Class
Rated 4.00 stars by Collector1
Do it with style, or don't do it at all! That's Jazz's motto and his choice of alternate Earth mode reflects that. This cool cat Autobot transformers into a very detailed Pontiac Solstice GPX with a nice, shiny paint job. Jazz's rear bumper, which forms his legs in robot mode, is a little misaligned but it does not interfere in either form. Jazz's gun can attach to his spoiler and act as a mounted laser cannon/machine gun. Jazz's transformation is rather simple, but you can get hung up when transforming his arms which are his front wheels and hood. The automorph gimmick on Jazz comes into play when you push down the car top which raises the head and pushes out the grill to complete the transformation. The robot mode is moderately accurate to the CGI model from the movie. The...[See More]

Venom
Spider-Man Origins (Hasbro) - Series 2
Rated 4.00 stars by Collector1
Bonded with an alien Symbiote, disgraced newspaper reporter and photographer, Eddie Brock's own psychosis and need for revenge becomes all consuming when he learns all needs too about the man he blames for his ruined life: The Amazing Spider-Man! Eddie Brock, now known as Venom, has only three known weaknesses; extreme heat, sonic, and mind blowingly bad articulation! Venom's waist can only be turned in one direction, meaning is you want him to get back to facing forward, you have to keep turning him. His legs are far spaced which makes it hard to get both legs on the base unless you put him in a crouching position. The Lethal Protectors feet are oddly small and seem fragile. Something else that was wrong with the figure was that one of the foot holes was to small! This was fixed...[See More]
