Battle Cry Uruk-Hai Warrior Lord of the Rings - Trilogy (Toy Biz) - Two Towers - Series 5 Rated 4.00 stars by Deaditor The most sight after figure is by far this one. The battle cry Uruk hai comes sword a removable helmet, a pike in two parts and a torch. He is super articulated and sculpted well but his torso is obviously limited by his battle cry sound feature which does sound good but I’d rather the Uruk not have a rubber head and was less gimicky here. The paint job leaves much to be desired considering the uruks wore gunmetal coloured armour in the films with rust and decay mass produced and this figure is painted with a very light silver which is so inappropriate. It is worth having a few but they need a paintjob and to be honest it might be better to take the helmets and give them to some spare Uruk crossbowmen and give them swords as they are wel articulsted and bigger making them more imposing...[See More]
Dungeons Of Isengard Orc Captain Lord of the Rings - Trilogy (Toy Biz) - Two Towers - Series 4 Rated 4.00 stars by Deaditor This is a figure that is rare and elusive but one has to ask if it is indeed worth the purchase. Collector wise you’reaways going to buy it, but as a figure itself there is a lot of swivel articulation points and a lack of poseablilith limited by it design, but comes with a hammer and a sword that are detailed well and thenfogure itself looks decent. So for me I think this is a great figure to get and with the price nowadays it demands....[See More]
Shagrat Mordor Uruk-Hai Warrior (Super Poseable) Lord of the Rings - Trilogy (Toy Biz) - Two Towers - Series 4 Rated 5.00 stars by Deaditor Shagrat is highly detailed, looks like the character and has super articulation. He comes with an Uruk blade and shield with the eye of Mordor painted on and I always go the impression that these uruks were ones who survived the campaign against Rohan and against Isengard. In the books I believe he is just an orc and whilst there are other uruks around it seems in the book Saruman just made some whilst Morgoth was the initial creator. I think this figure should have come with a mightily vest as his character arc involved him obsessing over the shirt and starting. The civil war break out in Cirith-Ungol, then possibly he gave it to the Mouth of Sauron or he was captured and questioned about the shirts significance. I think this is a very good figure and worth getting....[See More]
Prince Theodred Lord of the Rings - Trilogy (Toy Biz) - Two Towers - Series 4 Rated 5.00 stars by Deaditor There’s not too much to come to on about this figure other than it’s just Toybiz going above and beyond making every character possible. Theodred appears in 4 scenes, one where Eomer finds him, one where he’s being tended to and then his death and funeral, so he’s not exactly one for the kids to have an action packed fighting figure. Interestingnly there is an obvious hole in his armour where his wound is so that’s attention to detail and he comes with a removable helmet and his sword. He’s super articulated and nicely detailed and one for the collector completionists to get....[See More]
Hama (Royal Guard of Rohan) Lord of the Rings - Trilogy (Toy Biz) - Two Towers - Series 4 Rated 5.00 stars by Deaditor Nice detail, decent articulation, good likeness and comes with a vinyl cape so he can sit on a horse and has a sword so I think he’s perfectly fine as a figure with not much to comment upon....[See More]
Gamling in Rohan Armor (with Weapons) Lord of the Rings - Trilogy (Toy Biz) - Two Towers - Series 3 Rated 4.00 stars by Deaditor It’s almost perfect but hat headsculpt.... what did they do to you Gamling. You can tell it’s him but it’s the most strikingly non human looking headsculpt almost skeletal, I’m not sure why it’s just really off. Everything else is fine and he comes with a decent vinyl cloak that isn’t anoying like the Rohirrim soldiers ones as those stop you from putting a figure onto a horse. He has his sword and that’s about it, well articulated and well detailed just a bit of an off putting headsculpt....[See More]
Frodo (Super Poseable) Lord of the Rings - Trilogy (Toy Biz) - Two Towers - Series 3 Rated 3.50 stars by Deaditor This figure boasts the super poseable but compared to other super articulated figures it misses some crucial points, takes some other aspects too far and overall the figure suffers for it. What I mean is the figure has A head that can move 360 and look up and down a bit, arms that can hinge outward and rotate, then double hinges elbows but no swivel at the upper arm. The hands rotate and have some movement but this just makes holding the sword impossible. There’s hip rotation, hinges legs that go forward and outwards, a leg swivel and hinges knees but when we get to the foot the toes did not need to be articulate as they look freaky, the swivel shin and hinge at the ankle are fine but his entire foot and calves seem too small. There’s some detailing present like the ring being moulded...[See More]
Sam (Mount Doom, Electronic Base) Lord of the Rings - Trilogy (Toy Biz) - Return of the King - Series 5 Rated 5.00 stars by Deaditor I think this is a really good rendition of a weary Sam, with high detail, super articulation and a really decent stun sword. He comes with a base that says 2 phrases: “I can’t carry it for you but I can carry you” and “ throw it in the fire” and it’s designed like the mount doom foothold. Defiantly worth getting!...[See More]
Frodo (Mount Doom, Electronic Base) Lord of the Rings - Trilogy (Toy Biz) - Return of the King - Series 5 Rated 4.00 stars by Deaditor I like the figure but an issue is some of the scale in regards to the head being a bit small and the waist being a bit big. That and the one ring detailing is awful being moulded into the figure it looks like a medal. This was a perfect opportunity to have a ring on a metal chain and some red detailing on the figures neck to show the burden of the one ring. It’s well articulated and the dirtying detail is done nicely. These mount doom figures are very cool and worth having, I just find there’s a few issues....[See More]
Minas Trith Citadel Guard Lord of the Rings - Trilogy (Toy Biz) - Return of the King - Series 4 Rated 4.00 stars by Deaditor It looks the part but has a few issues. First of all the plastic cloak which is cumbersome prevents movement and being part of the oauldrons those are inhibited too. Secondly the lack of a face mask considering all the citadel guards wore them there’s a lack of one here. Lastly there’s variants with brown spears and black spears but I feel black looks better as I believe they were in the film. Apart from that it looks decent and is worth getting but you’re not going to get many poses out of this figure....[See More]
