Harley Quinn Batman - Arkham Asylum (DC Direct) - Series 1 Rated 4.90 stars by Deaditor I love this Harley figure. It’s a great likeness and decentlbarticulated though it could be more to Pose her in her gymnastic stances she shows off in game. She comes with Warden Sharps cane, the Titan Serum injector and has details like Sharps name badge included. Highly accurate and excellently designed as a figure....[See More]
Joker (Sickened Variant) Batman - Arkham City (DC Direct) - Exclusives Rated 4.00 stars by Deaditor I love this variant, his clothes are dirty and his head looks like it’s melted. It’s not accurate to the in game joker but to be honest none of the joker figures are particularly great in my opinion. It uses the same body as the basic Hoker figure which is fine but unfortunately like the regular one the hands are wide open so Home can't hold anything besides the scarface puppet which doesn’t come with this one. Nice detail and worth getting, just a lack of arcitulation and open hands prevent you from posing him much....[See More]
Prologue Elven Warrior Lord of the Rings - Fellowship of the Ring (Toy Biz) - Series 4 Rated 4.50 stars by Deaditor It’s a well articulated figure with lots of accessories and superb detail. He has a removable helmet, a sword a shield a bow, some arrows and a lance. His quiver and it’s strap are also removable and he has a button on the back to have a slashing attack. He has a swivel head, ball hinged shoulders, swivel upper arm with a single joint below and swivel wrists. He also has hinged legs that can go forward and back with a single knee joint and anckle joint so the upper body is more moveable. Overal a decent figure becoming more elusive and expensive as time goes by....[See More]
Merry and Pippin vs Moria Orc Lord of the Rings - Fellowship of the Ring (Toy Biz) - Multi-Packs Rated 3.00 stars by Deaditor Another multi pack, how special are Merry and Pippin? You get Merry and Pippin with their Shire cloaks and daggers provided by strider but they are the same basic hobbit figures not great but some detail and basic articulation. The Goblin is fine with fairly good articulation removable helmet, shield and it’s blade. It’s a good three pack but nothing amazing....[See More]
Defeat of Sauron Lord of the Rings - Fellowship of the Ring (Toy Biz) - Gift Packs Rated 4.00 stars by Deaditor It’s a good idea for a multipack that makes sense to make thigh Isildur would be a more appropriate figure than Gil-Galad seeing as this is the “defeat” of Sauron. What you get is Elendil with his helm and Nardil the sword, Gil Galad with his lance and shield and Sauron with removable fingers and ring as well as a light up eyes feature and he has some lines of dialogue. If you want to have a review on an individual figure see my other reviews of the figures but as a set it’s not a bad one to get....[See More]
Gandalf the White (Beige Sheath, Off-White Robes) Lord of the Rings - Two Towers (Toy Biz) - Series 1 Rated 3.00 stars by Deaditor I own both beige and white robes versions of this Gandalf and besides the colour pallets they are the same, though interestingly no Gandalf gets the sheath right as it’s white not beige or blue or grey but white when he’s in this form. This figure has a better glamdring though with the blue handle but as I said both are the same figure with the vinyl cloak which is nicely detailed with an Elven broach but very cumbersome and the terrible staff raising/ sword slash action feature of pressing the button on his back to activate this feature which leaves him with limited arm movement. He has a swivel head, swivel right arm with swivel elbow and wrists but the right arm can also hinge out, swivel waist, hinged legs that’s can go forward and single jointed knees and ankles. So for articulation...[See More]
Literally going through them all as here’s probably 3 I don’t own
Return of Gandalf (UK) Lord of the Rings - Two Towers (Toy Biz) - International Exclusives Rated 3.00 stars by Deaditor What an odd gift pack Gandalf and Gimli sure, but helmsdeep Aragorn and Legolas? Unless this “return of Gandalf” mwant wen he brought the Rohirrim to Helms Deep, but no it’s clearly fangorn forrrest on the box and description. How perculiur but it’s not the only example of this of course and this set is a special exclusive and also I’ve noticed has the ugliest Gandalf head I’ve ever seen. So you get a clean white Gandalf with the bad head specified, a Helms Deep Aragorn which I do like, Regular Gimli and the bad head variant of Legolas with the poor serial bad paint apps of brown hair and hair flowing back. So it’s not worth the price I’ve seen it go for unless one is desperate to complete their collection which is essentially buying cardboard st thirst point. It’s not the weirdest...[See More]
Gimli (Helm's Deep) (Australia) Lord of the Rings - Two Towers (Toy Biz) - International Exclusives Rated 3.00 stars by Deaditor I want to review this figure in 2 ways: 1 about the figure in its rarity and 2 an overall review if the figure itself for people just wanting a Gimli figure review.
So to begin with this is an Australia exclusive carded figure if Gimli that only a limited amount were made and became extremely rare and got for around £200-£500 online. It’s finny that packaging saying ‘Helms Deep Gimli’ is worth that but that’s the world we live in. If you do find one of these somehow DO NOT OPEN IT. Sell it online and find a Gimli in a 2 pack or multipack boxset gift box set of figures if you need a loose one.
Moving onto the figure itself it’s just a Gimli figure. He has 2 throwing axes, a double headed axe, a walking axe and helmet as accessories but no cloak despite him clearly wearing one from...[See More]
Frodo (Sword Attack Action) Lord of the Rings - Trilogy (Toy Biz) - Fellowship of the Ring - Series 1 Rated 3.00 stars by Deaditor The first Frodo figure I owned as a child which was fine by those standards but from a customisers and collectorsnpiitn of view the only parts of this figure useful to me is his jacket backpack and sword as I transferred those onto an Elven boat Frodo along with the soft goods Asfaloth cape/ Elven cape depending on the time period. The figure itself isn’t terrible but the scale is. Each if the hobbits have one oversized badly done figure and they’re all from fellowship: basic Merry and Pippin which have never changed, Moria Sam and this Frodo. All are too big have poor movement but it’s frodo and Sam that aren’t passable. I do like this figures cloak how it’s moulded and removable and functional. The articulation is: a swivel head, hinged swivel arms the right one inhibited by the action...[See More]
Boromir (Battle Attack Action) Lord of the Rings - Trilogy (Toy Biz) - Fellowship of the Ring - Series 1 Rated 2.50 stars by Deaditor There is literally 1 improvement about this figure and that’s the sword and sheath included which is a vast improvement to the original Boromir. However this figure is still the same Boromir often found in multipacks where you press back button and I imagine he’s supposed to raise one arm and lower the other for some sort of battle action as advertised but it doesn’t work well. Essentially he raises one arm and looks that direction then when the button is released he looks the other and raises that arm and it doesn’t always work. I think detailing wise it’s not terrible but the inclusion of a black cloak with an Elven broach stands out as an inaccuracy. Borromir comes with his shield which has a strap allowing it to hang over his shoulder, that and a handle to hold of his hand is moulded...[See More]
