Painting hair of female Marvel Legends figures in Custom Workstation by isdbear
Sunday, February 17, 2019
   [Edit]
Hello,

I wanted to check with those who have experience painting the hair of female marvel legends figures. I am working on a custom with hair that has a few strands which hang down in the front (formerly a Dagger figure). I was planning to cut the hair back a bit and adjust the style so that the paint will not crack if the head is turned to the sides. Then I decided to consult the forum to see if anyone has experience with painting hair like this. Will the paint crack if the hair is not adjusted so as to avoid the shoulders?...[See More]

When viewing a custom, click the white helmet next to their name, that takes you to the Overview page of their Profile. There's a "Become a Fan" link on that page.

You get sent there if you click a name on the forum too.

The Custom link on the person's Profile shows text links to their customs. ...

Okay, I think I figured it out. It is takes a few extra clicks in that it has to be someone's response in the comments to lead to their profile. Otherwise, you just go to their customs. Thank you!

Commission Requests in Figure Realm Comments and Questions by Julius169

Is there a place here where I can request a fellow customizer for a commission work? How do I request someone to make a custom figure? I was looking to engage with some customizer(s) to see how much they would charge for a custom made figure....[See More]

Best way is to send the customizers' work you like a personal message to see if they would be interested in doing a commission. To do that, open the page for one of their submitted customs, then click on the small icon at the end of their name, from there you will have access to a link allowing you to contact the customizer.

Thanks for the honest review of my products. To be honest - the P2 Clonetrooper helmets shouldn't have had any of those defects... they might have been from an older mold that was past it's useful life. I don't think I've made any in a while but I'll take a better look at the mold, it might be time to replace it.

As for the size issue - while I can understand your request for including a picture of what types of figures it might fit on.... in my experience that's a bad idea. Here's why: 99.9% of eBay buyers have a combined IQ of 8 and see a picture of a figure and a head cast or a painted head cast and think that's what they are getting. No matter how many times I post in the listing description - even going so far as to put text ON THE PICTURES - it doesn't matter. Buyer sees a painted ...

Check SWG's instagram, etc, many examples of his stuff as well as a note about the new way orders will be handled.

I just Bought from you myself, and had the same odd variation in scale across five 3.75" head. looking at them, I assume it's the material and possibly some volumetric reduction in the curing phase of the plastic Raven head seems to have lost detail and seems undersized). overall, I'm very happy with most of what I ordered, but I agree that a scale comparison of some kind would be helpful, as you said, not every figure in a particular scale is exactly the same proportions. Possibly a compatability suggestion in the text body (I.e. Best with Marvel Universe, Black Series 3.75, Marauder Inc, etc?) Would you consider posting a picture here or your paintwork? I would love to make the next order prepainted. And I intend to make more orders in the future, thank you!!!

•Updated post with more of SWG's social media links.

•I placed another order for clone trooper helmets, the respirator areas on this batch are much better, ready to go. There's still some clean up work to do on the back of the helmet, presumably where the mold is split to remove the cast, but that's expected.

What are you having trouble with, sounds like a straitforward job.

I recently bought a jeweler's saw specifically to cut styrene to make weapons and stuff, works great.

I have made them from various materials..... cardboard folded and covered with felt, or wrap the blade with a piece of plastic wrap then shape scabbard out of clay or procreate over the wrapped blade , wiggleing it every so often, so it had some space inside the cavity ....seem to be the best and last the longest ( so far )
