A prominent member of the Guerrero wrestling family, Eddie is best known for his tenures in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and World Championship Wrestling (WCW). Eddie spent his early years wrestling for a variety of wrestling promotions, and in the mid 90's started splitting his time between AAA and NJPW. In AAA, Eddie was a hated villain who teamed with fellow American Art Barr as los Gringos Locos ("the Crazy Americans" ). In NJPW Eddie wrestled under a mask as Black Tiger. In 1995, after a brief stint in ECW, he went to work for WCW.
Eddie Guerrero's tenure in World Championship Wrestling (WCW) was marked by memorable feuds, captivating storylines, and impactful moments. In 1996, Guerrero found himself entangled in a heated rivalry with the legendary Ric Flair and his faction, The Four Horsemen. In 1997, Guerrero's path crossed with Rey Mysterio Jr., and the two engaged in a compelling and high-flying rivalry that captivated audiences. This rivalry elevated both wrestlers and contributed to the popularity of the cruiserweight division in WCW. During his time in WCW, Guerrero was also involved in the formation of the Latino World Order (LWO), a faction that aimed to represent and empower Latino wrestlers. Guerrero played a pivotal role in leading the LWO and engaging in feuds against other factions and wrestlers. Unfortunately, Guerrero's WCW journey was marred by a serious motorcycle accident in 1999 that led to his temporary departure from wrestling. He returned in the summer of '99 and alligned with Konnan and Rey Mysterio in a faction called the filthy Animals.
In 2000, Eddie Guerrero made his WWE debut as a member of The Radicalz, a faction that also included Chris Benoit, Perry Saturn, and Dean Malenko. Guerrero's crowning achievement in WWE came in 2004 when he won the WWE Championship. Defeating Brock Lesnar at No Way Out, Guerrero's victory was a culmination of his years of hard work and perseverance. Guerrero held the belt for several months before losing it to JBL.
Guerrero died on November 13th 2005, at the age of 38, still an active WWE wrestler having wrestled only 2 days prior.
