This BAT Squad Leader is an experimental prototype of the version 1,8 BAT. Its central processing unit has been programmed to direct offensive attacks on the battlefield and focus its fellow troopers on tasks that will lead to the eradication of specified G.I. Joe targets. Once engaged, it will continue to execute its primary function of indicating enemies and attacking anything in the line-of-sight of its local sensors.
Leadership, destruction and elimination were the only orders programmed into the squad leader's circuitry. It is still a non-self-aware automaton that is best utilized by turning it on and sending it out to direct its fellow troopers with all weapons blazing. Along with its position of cybernetic dominance, Dr Mindbender has also provided it with a portable missile launcher, which is capable of firing a wide assortment of explosive ordnance.
